Soda Bread [Ireland]

Soda Bread from Ireland Ala Tekkadancs


Ingredients :

Baking powder 1 table spoon
Wheat flour 560 grams
Baking soda 1 tea spoon
4 table spoon sugars
1 item Chicken egg
Margarine 113 grams
Buttermilk 240 ml
Fine salt ½ tea spoon
Buttermilk 60 ml (for spread)
Butter 57 grams (for spread)
Vegetable oil to taste (for spread)

The process of making Irish Typical Bread:

§    The oven is heated 190 degrees centigrade then rub a flat pan with little oil. Set aside
§    Melted butter is then set aside
§    Prepare the container and mix the flour with baking soda, baking powder, sugar, margarine and salt. Mix well
§    Add the eggs that have been shaken into the flour mixture. Stir not too long
§    The dough is then placed on a flat surface or silicon mat, sprinkle with flour over the dough and mix it together
§    Form a round dough and put into a baking dish
§    Mix butter with 60 ml butter milk and beat well
§    Apply a half-whipped butter and butter milk to the dough surface, for the remainder used during roasting
§    The surface of the dough is formed cross with a knife
§    Grind the dough until cooked, while roasting process do not forget smeared butter and butter milk mixture
§    If the dough is fully cooked then remove and serve
§    Soda bread is ready to be enjoyed.
